Could you lead the future of gender balance in UK nuclear?

Women in Nuclear UK has begun the search for its next President and Chair of Trustees after current President, Clare Sharpe, announced her intention to stand down next year.

This is one of the most important voluntary leadership roles within the UK nuclear sector and offers a unique opportunity to help shape the future of gender balance, diversity and inclusion across nuclear.

As President, you will provide strategic leadership for WiN UK, chair our Board of Trustees, lead our Executive Team and serve as the charity’s principal ambassador. Working alongside trustees, volunteers, members, sponsors and industry stakeholders, you will help ensure WiN UK continues to deliver its mission while growing its influence and impact across the sector.

We are looking for an individual who can bring energy, vision and strategic leadership to the role. Applicants should demonstrate strong leadership capability, excellent stakeholder engagement skills and a commitment to equality, diversity and inclusion.

Importantly, we want to hear from individuals with diverse backgrounds, experiences and perspectives.

Experience in areas such as governance, communications, finance, business development, education, risk management, regulation or the nuclear sector would be welcomed, although no single career pathway is required.

Together, we can continue building a nuclear sector where women are equally represented, empowered and influential at every level.

The role is voluntary and typically requires a commitment of around 2-4 days per month, with attendance at Board meetings, Executive Team meetings and key sector events.
