Alan Rankin, a long-standing member of the WiN Cumbria Regional Team, has been recognised for his positive contributions to diversity with a “Lifetime Achievement Award” from Diverse Cumbria.
Alan, who works for Sellafield Ltd, is passionate about improving diversity in the workplace and beyond. In his role with WiN Cumbria, Alan supports and encourages participation in local activities, such as valuable mentoring.
Claire Morfoot, who leads the WiN Cumbria regional team, said:
“To see Alan win the Lifetime Achievement award brought a huge smile to my face. Alan brings an immense amount of momentum to ensuring diversity and equality for all. The amount of time he puts into this, both personally and professionally, is truly inspiring. It is fantastic to see this formally recognised with this award.”

Throughout my career the central themes have always been to try and do the right things for the right reasons, and support, empower and enable others to be the best they can be. Making a difference is important to me, not just in work but also in our community. Women in Nuclear is a fantastic organisation that is doing great work driving change and I am proud to play a small part in taking things forward.”
