When making plans and policies, you might find that complex (or “wicked”) problems are difficult to solve because of incomplete, contradictory data, path dependency and long delays between cause and effects.
Improving gender balance is one of these wicked problems because we often lack enough information, and many of the challenges that we see now are as a result of decisions and behaviours from the past. It can take a long time to see the impact of action that might correct our current situation.
This is where “systems-thinking” offers a helpful analysis of wicked problems. Through analysis, it is possible to find implementable solutions.
Join us to see how to use system-thinking and draw insights that can help us to reduce gender inequality and gender pay gap in the nuclear industry.
