SUMMARY:A systemic perspective to the challenge of achieving gender balance in the nuclear industry
DESCRIPTION:When making plans and policies\, you might find that complex (or “wicked”) problems are difficult to solve because of incomplete\, contradictory data\, path dependency and long delays between cause and effects. \nImproving gender balance is one of these wicked problems because we often lack enough information\, and many of the challenges that we see now are as a result of decisions and behaviours from the past. It can take a long time to see the impact of action that might correct our current situation. \nThis is where “systems-thinking” offers a helpful analysis of wicked problems. Through analysis\, it is possible to find implementable solutions. \nJoin us to see how to use system-thinking and draw insights that can help us to reduce gender inequality and gender pay gap in the nuclear industry. \nRegister for this webinar

SUMMARY:Domestic abuse and the workplace: making a stand
DESCRIPTION:Event led by Speak Out Revolution in collaboration with  WiN Central England. \nIn this talk\, Rajinder Pryor discusses #domesticabuse. More and more organisations recognise that they need to provide both physical and emotional safety for women and their colleagues in the workplace due to the impact of domestic abuse. A heightened level of awareness has raised this issue to the forefront – due to the pandemic domestic violence increased globally with many women finding themselves trapped in their own homes due to lockdown. This session will explore the impact of domestic abuse  and how increasingly organisations are making a stand. \nRajinder Pryor is a committed Diversity and Inclusion champion alongside her role as Engagement Lead within Network Rail. She is actively involved in a number of networks within the rail industry. 2018 was a memorable year for Rajinder as she was awarded Women in Rail’s Inspirational Woman of the Year and invited to a Royal Garden party in recognition of her endeavours. Her passion is coupled with a strong voice to drive change as she openly speaks about the sensitive topics of honour and domestic abuse to raise greater awareness\, most recently featured in October edition of Rail Director magazine. Supporting Network Rail’s recent partnership with White Ribbon UK she is keen to engage more men to make a stand to prevent violence against women. \nThis event welcomes attendees from all genders and all organisations. \nRegister for this free event now. \n
